There is no enemy,
there is nothing lacking.
You are perfect, swinging all ways and directions.
You are Too Much and Too Little’s child.
You arrive and depart simultaneously.
Your body is all things manifested,
on its way to death,
on its way to birth.
The rhythm is endless.
You have destiny’s sword.
With it you can cut the curtain of time down the middle,
and the crease of every closed eyelid.
Make waves in their sadness so that they can wake.
Wield your powers effortlessly.
All love sings your name.
All life knows you.
Everywhere is home.

Oh, hello, I’m glad you came.

You will find the right words, just you wait and see. They’ll be falling from the rooftops on a blossom covered breeze. And the song you need to hear, it will be singing through the trees. Are you listening? Don’t you see?
The Right Words | Sarah Slean

“You are on the right path. You will realize
That the tears are there to leave you with a brighter pair of eyes
And the pain that you’ve been fighting is an angel is disguise.
It is love and love, love is wise.
There’s still time to notice, still time to believe
That a door at last will open where doubt and darkness used to be,
That the paradise you long for, it’s underneath your feet.
What you running for? Where’ve you been?”
-from “The Right Words,” by Sarah Slean
One said April is the cruelest month when worn out promises return, but there’s more wisdom in the iris bud than all our centuries of words.
Sweet dancing, sweet dancing, and dancers you shall be…
The Cosmic Ballet | Sarah Slean
Live on CBC Radio 2
Sarah Slean talks about the process of creating “Sea” - the classical half of her new double album “Land & Sea.” “Sea” features Slean backed by a 21 piece orchestra.
“So off it went, and when that happens, it can seem really daunting. To me, I think about all the hows - who’s going to pay for it and how it’s going to get made, and I start biting my nails. But the idea itself has this energy and all of the people start magically coming to you, all of the cooperators appear and the way sort of unravels in front of. And that really happened with this project and I feel like that’s how you know you’re going the right way, when the steps sort of magically appear. You just have to walk in faith, and this is a hard thing to do.”

“Sea’s orchestrations are a natural setting for Slean, and there’s nothing pretentious about them. Cosmic Ballet’s sweeping scope, the creeping menace of Napoleon, the way The Devil and the Dove’s piano gives the sensation of perpetual flight – this is Slean’s masterpiece.”

Out of dark days.
Stay up, airplane!
Take my last name.
Stay up, airplane…
